Inspire Me Wednesday!


Good morning my sweet friends & welcome to another "Inspire Me Wednesday!"  Today my team has some GORGEOUS cards for you!  For my card, I found this card HERE on pinterest & it inspired my card I created here.  This was a VERY EASY card to put together! I "tried" to do an ombre watercolor background using my peerless watercolors.  As soon as it dried, I used my rectangular die to cut it.  Then I added the vintage stitched label dies using some vellum & some scraps of pattern paper! Next I used some vellum and more scraps to cut out my butterflies using my pretty butterfly dies.  Next, I stamped a sentiment from our newest set called Already Missing you.  I stamped it onto one of the stitched decorative banners.  Then instead of using adhesive to adhere it to my card, I decided to use my Tim Holtz mini attacher instead to attach it to the layer of my card!  It was missing something, so I went ahead & added some cream color hemp twine & created a simple bow!
Lastly, I adhered my layer onto a standard size card gray card stock base.   I wanted to add sequins SOOO BAD, but I put them on & for some strange reason, they were not flowing with my card today!;)  Hope you enjoy the simplicity of my card today.

Inspiration Wednesday & my homework for "Clean & Simple 4" online card class!


GOOD MORNING my sweet friends & welcome to another "Inspiration Wednesday!" 
For my card card today, I was inspired by the talented Miss Shari Carroll!  She is one of the teachers for the "Clean & Simple 4" online card class & she did a technique by die cutting an image out of fun foam & using it as a stamp!  I adhered the die cut to an acrylic block, inked it up & stamped it directly to my card! Using that same foam that I inked up, I removed it from my acrylic block then adhered it slightly on top of the stamped butterfly! Next I used the smaller butterfly die & just cut it out using the same fun foam, but just kept it white!  I added some wink of stella to all 3 of my butterflies! I used some gold/bronzey paint & flicked a tiny bit of splatters on to my card.  I added 3 different kinds of washi tape to the right edge of my card & this is what Miss Shari did to her card & I LOVED that touch! Before I adhered that front panel to the base of my card, I used some gold/bronzey thread, tied it around a few times & made a simple bow~!  I used my Label Font stamp set & stamped out HELLO using that same ink I used for the butterflies which was Simon Says AUDREY BLUE! Then I used some clear embossing powder on top of the sentiment to give it a little shine, then layered it on top of a gold card stock! Last, but certainly not least, I added sequins!

Favorite Stamp/Die of the Month & my homework for "Clean & Simple 4" online class


Good morning my sweet friends & welcome to another "My Favorite Stamp/Die of the Month!" 
For today, I am combining 2 things in my post together! The first thing, I am featuring our die of the month which is "Teeny Tag Layering Dies!" You have until Sunday, Jan 31, 2015 to pick this die set up HERE at a sale price! 
The second thing I did today was do a new technique that I learned from the latest "Clean & Simple 4 Online Card Class"  There were a few embossing techniques & right away this one caught my eye because I have never did it before! You all know me, I get BORED EASILY & I LOVE to learn new techniques! Let's just say that I will DEFINITELY be doing this again! The next time I do it, I will do it in a video for you! ;)  
Basically, it's a lot of heat embossing using clear embossing powder! I was able to use for the first time my "Clear Gloss Ultra High" embossing powder by WOW!  I actually LOVED it!!! I picked mine up from my trustee amazon.com HERE!  I also used it on the tags too, but you can't see all the shininess in my pic :(  For my inks, I used my pigment inks from Memento luxe PEAR TART & BAHAMA BLUE! These inks are MY FAVE pigment inks because the colors are BEAUTIFUL & VIBRANT!

My Creative Time's Farewell Blog Hop


Good morning my sweet friends & welcome to our "Farewell Blog Hop".
Today is a "bittersweet" day for us here at My Creative Time.  I have mentioned earlier this month that there were going to be some changes for the new year & this is one of them.  
Having 18 design team members has gotten to be sooo much for me.  My goal for the new year is to have a smaller team & that means letting some team members go :(  I have tried to make a video for this blog hop at least 3 times & just could not do it.  It was too emotional for me because this was the hardest decision I had to make.  Unfortunately this is why there is no video for you today :(

 Some of these ladies have been w/me since the beginning & I consider us family here at MCT.   So this post is going be hard to get through :'(  I decided not to do another design team call because that is a lot of work & I am really busy with my boys right now.  These ladies that are part of this blog hop today will NOT be gone forever!  They are a part of my new "Alumni Team!"  This means they will guest design for me sporadically throughout the year & they will also be part of a few blog hops!  These ladies are AMAZINGLY TALENTED & I KNOW they will be picked up by other design teams asap!  So hopefully their new teams will let them do the guest spots for me.  "My Creative Time" would NOT be the same without them!  If I could keep ALL 18 members, I TOTALLY would, but unfortunately, I can't.  So I thought having this "Alumni Team" would be GREAT! 

For this hop,  I thought the theme should be a "Friendship" theme which is very fitting for this hop.  
Here is my card I created! I wanted to do some watercoloring for it & I love the way it came out.  I thought having the butterflies hang off the card would look pretty.  Since I used soft colors for the watercoloring, I thought this card needed some vellum butterflies layered on top of the yellow & turquoise butterflies to soften the card.  To add a little something extra, I used my fun stitched edge die for the scallop edge.

SMILE tag & a "Guest designer"

DESIGNER CHALLENGE –COLOR PALETTE


Good morning my sweet friends & welcome to another "Designer Challenge!" For this challenge, we are using this BEAUTIFUL photo inspiration! I just LOVE the colors on this one!

For my card, I basically used the EXACT same concept I did yesterday for my post-it note holder HERE!  But I thought it would look CUTE as a card! My AWESOME design team member Miss Katie inspired me to make a card after see hers HERE! I can't believe how EASY these are to make! Please don't be bored if I make MORE of this style card! lol….. I explained in my video how I made this card!

MCT 32nd Edition Sneak Peek day #4


GOOD MORNING & welcome to our LAST day of sneaky peeks! Today we are showcasing our FINAL 2 sets! They are "Live, Love, Laugh & Be Happy" & "Pretty Butterflies & Dragonfly Dies"! I am SOOO IN LOVE w/these last 2 because you can make SO MANY PRETTY THINGS w/this AWESOME set!  For my first card, I did some watercoloring first, THEN I die cut the biggest butterfly & pop it up w/pop dots! AS you can see, I designed this set to have the stitching on the negative part so you CAN make a BEAUTIFUL card like this one! I just LOVE it! 


My next card is a simple card using the dragon fly die!  As I was designing this set, this is the card I had in mind for it! I just LOVE all the butterflies & this dragonfly die in the set! I also used a set we sneaked earlier this week "Build a Scripty & Watercolor Background" stamp to stamp the background onto the white base of the card.

Like I said I wanted to do for this new year, here I am showing you a little Pre-Sneak for the June release! Let's just say that all of you "doggie lovers" out there, you are going to LOVE this set!  So I just wanted to show you a window card I made using the new bone die & sentiments! I hope I gave you something to look forward to in June!
