GOOD MORNING & HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!
Just want to take a moment to thank all the veteran's who have served & who is still serving & fighting for our country! Thank you for making our world a safer place. You are ALL TRULY APPRECIATED!
This post is LATE because I had NO INTERNET! :( THANK GOD it is back up now! ;)
Okay, today we have another "Scrapping the little things for you!" Well, unfortunately, I had NO TIME at all this weekend to do a page :( My Anthony & his team "Sandlot" had a baseball tournament Saturday & Sunday ALL day on both days, so let's just say by the time we got home, we were ALL COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED to say the least~! Well, as you can see in the pic above, they went UNDEFEATED & they were the FIRST PLACE CHAMPIONS!!! My Anthony is the tiny guy in the front row in the middle! :) YAHOOOO! They played their hiney's off! Their 2nd game on Saturday was a "STRESSFULL" game! Sandlot was down 13-0 & I think it was the 5th inning, my Anthony took a fast ball to the back of his neck :( I was SO SCARED because he fell face first to the ground & wasn't moving! I immediately ran ON THE FIELD to him. At this point, of course he was in pain & he started moving....THANK GOD! It's a GOOD THING I have ice on hand WITH motrin! We iced him in the dugout & I evaluated him, made sure he had full range of movement w/his head and he DID!
At this point, his team was NOT HAPPY that one of their team mates were hurt! Let's just say that don't think you can hurt one of our team mates & get away w/it! We came BACK to win 14-13!!! It was an AMAZING COME BACK! I do have to say that my Anthony may be tiny, but he is MIGHTY~! He refused to stay out of the game! He STILL went up to bat again & the "highlight" of the game was he got the out & caught the ball of the pitcher who hit him! I know it was NOT intentionally, but we were very disappointed that a few players from that team were laughing at Anthony after he got hit! :( It was definitely NOT a laughing matter when it happened because he could've been SERIOUSLY HURT! We are just lucky that my little guy is made of STEEL! lol....... I've been keeping an eye on him & he is fine! I am still taking him to get his neck checked out "just in case"! I think if that were ME, I would've already had a neck brace on! HAHAHAHA!
This weekend's tournament was definitely "bittersweet". All proceed's from it were going towards cancer! We dedicated our win to our Coach's niece who had passed away at the age of 16 to cancer last year :( It was a little emotional at the same time for him.

Ohhhh poor baby! I'm a baseball Mom so I completely understand you! We've had lots of baseball injuries :( My oldest plays in college now and boy those pitches come so fast, it's scaaaarrry!!!

WOW what a weekend for your family. Way to go Anthony! A heroic come from behind victory and a safe outcome from what could have been a serious injury.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how dependent we all are on the internet nowadays? I'm really glad it came back, Miss Emma, so you could share your weekend and the great DT projects.
Congratulations to the team! What a win. I hope Anthony is OK. This will make an awesome memory page. The Design Team had some wonderful layouts today and a great idea to use treats and cards to help decorate the pages. Great job everyone.

Oh Emma sure missed you yesterday but glad you're able to go on line now. So, sorry to hear about baby Anthony's injury gosh that had to be one of your most scariest moments ever. How awesome that they were the best comeback kids ever!! WOOT!! WOOT!! WOOT!!
