GOOD morning my sweet friends & welcome to another MCT challenge! We are hosting a "Sketch" challenge & you can see the sketch below! So, it felt SO GOOD to actually make a scrapbook page! I can't even remember the last "scrapbook page" I've made! For those of you who've been following me from the beginning, you know that I don't really like doing 12x12 pages. I'd rather do an 8x8 or an odd size like the one I made today! My layout is an 8x10 because I plan on putting it into an 8x10 shadow box for my Dad! YEP, TODAY is my Dad's birthday & I thought this would be a sweet gift that he would love. :) This is extra special because my boys LOVE to play games w/my Dad (their Grandpa). I remember growing up, my sisters, brother & I always used to play dominoes OR checkers & sometimes even chinese checkers w/my Dad! I LOVE that NOW, I get to enjoy seeing "MY" boys doing the same thing I used to do growing up. In this particular picture, they are playing checkers! I'm not sure if you notice, but these are "SF Giants Baseball" checkers! HOW COOL are these! The checkers are actually little SF Giants batting helmets & "IF" I remember correctly, the opposing team's hats are the yankees! I remember when I saw these checkers at Bed Bath & Beyond LAST YEAR, I KNEW we HAD TO HAVE it! ;)
As you can see below, I used SEVERAL MCT products for my page! I made my own background paper by just heat embossing my "Script Type Backgrounds" using white embossing powder onto a piece of black card stock which was cut down to 8x10. Used my "Fun stitched edge dies" for the top left paper & for the border at the bottom of the page. Basically, just did some stamping & die cutting, tied some natural color jute around & made a bow! I thought doing some sewing on this would add a little extra special touch & I just LOVE how it came out! I also used glossy accents on all the cute little hearts! ;)
Here is my layout in it's entirety! I am very happy w/it considering that I can't even recall the last scrapbook page I made! I am going to have my boys journal on the little journaling card before we put it into the shadow box!
