GOOD MORNING !! I am thrilled that tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! It's been one of those weeks & I am soooo ready for the weekend!
Since Sunday, marks the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, I thought it would be only fitting to create special cards in memory of that sad day. I can't believe it has been 10 years already & I still remember EXACTLY what I was doing when this happened! I was 8 months pregnant w/Anthony & my Mother & I were watching tv in her kitchen! Then they showed it on the news & I was in SHOCK! I couldn't believe this was happening to us:( It was a very sad day that sooo many innocent lives were taken so suddenly. There were so many heros that day including all the firemen who played a HUGE part! I am SO VERY THANKFUL for all the men & women who risk their lives everyday to keep our Country safe!
Here is my card in honor of this day...
Here are my AWESOME design team's cards!
My design team showcased my stamp set "Happy Homecoming" & a few of us also used "My Little Firecracker" Don't forget to stop by my designer's blogs to comment on all of their BEAUTIFUL cards they created in memory of 9/11. Have a wonderful day my sweet friends! xoxo's
All these cards are beautiful and heartfelt. <3.

These cards are awesome and so welcome with the 10th anniversary of 9-11 coming up. I remember exactly what I was doing too that day and I remember thinking that my 18 year old oldest son would be going to war. He is now almost 29, his birthday is the day after 9-11, and he has been deployed 4 times since 9-11. He will soon go on his 5th deployment! I have another son in Afghan now, he will be home soon and then he is done. I can't believe how that day took the lives all so many innocent people, the emergency crews were so awesome and it was a day that pulled this country together. I hope we never have to expierence anything like that ever again and I pray that our soldiers can soon come home to their families. Thank you to all our military and our emergency crews, they are so awesome!!!

At Brenda...good eye ;) I think she is right! Your Design Team did an awesome job...so many ideas that I wish I could remember. The theme for today reminded me of those who survived and now have severe health issues...the tragedy is still happening...they should also be in our thoughts. Thank You for a wonderful theme and a great job by all.

Hi Emma,
ReplyDelete9/11 is my birthday, so I always remember what I was doing that morning. I often think of children like your son Anthony who have grown up in this "strange post 9/11 world" who have never known what it is like not to be at war. I pray for them and wonder what their future holds. Maybe they will find peace. Your card and all of your Design Team cards are just great!

Gorgeous cards for well deserved service givers. I will always remember that day even though I am in the UK. I was teaching and had an American teaching assistant working with me when the call came that her father had been killed in the first tower that collapsed and I had the awful job of telling her. Something I hope I never have to do again in those circumstances.

Your cards are super cute... I really like them!
ReplyDelete~Your story is similiar to mine, I was also 8 months pregnant... and had taken my 5 yr old to his FIRST DAY of KINDERGARDEN and my mom and I were on our way to go shopping... I agonized wheather to go or not.. *(I'm in NY but way over on the West part of NY, in WNY under Buffalo) and I thought, nothing would/could happen here... and I should still go, but felt tortured the whole day away from him until I got back... I am too sad for all the lost lives, such a shame... who could or would want to do something like that, is still unimaginable to me.... Weezie13
This is a great way to remember and honor all those who were taken on this sad day. Everyone on the DT did an amazing job!
