Happy Monday my sweet friends & welcome to another "Made in Minutes!" I fully intended on having a video for you, but my plug to my video cam was NO WHERE IN SIGHT :( So 'of course', AFTER I finished my card, I went to take a pic of it & there was the cord, sitting right next to my regular camera~! lol….. I said a few "choice words", then I was over it! hehehe!
Well, I actually time myself for my card today & it took me 17 minutes to do from beginning to end! It could've been shorter, but I decided to be PATIENT & let my watercoloring dry on its own before I stamped my sentiment & added the stitching! For my card today I used the Tim Holtz distress ink for my watercoloring! I do have to say that this medium has been my FAVORITE type of watercoloring by far! So if you decide to take the watercolor class, I highly suggest using your TH distress inks because they are PERFECT for it ESPECIALLY if you have them already!
I decided to do my entire card by watercoloring it because I really do need some more practice AND the best part is it is soooo much fun to do! I am REALLY HAPPY that I decided to take this class only because I can do a variety of cards now since I do get bored EASILY!
For my card, I first stamped the eiffel tower using TH Broken china ink, then I stamped the flourish using the TH Victorian velvet ink. Next I grabbed my container of clean water, then took a paintbrush, dipped it into the water & just brushed it over the images using a detailed water color brush. Next I took my ink & smashed in onto my craft mat, then took my brush again & just did some shading on the eiffel tower only! Next I smashed the 3 colors TH Milled lavender, TH Antique linen & TH tattered rose, then spritzed water on the 3 colors & just used my paint brush & water to paint the background of the card! Then I used the TH Victorian velvet ink to stamp "Springtime in Paris" sentiment onto my card then let it all dry by itself! Which it wasn't too bad because I had my fan on in my craft room! ;)
Last I stamped "merci" & just used my sewing machine to do some black stitching to kind of off set the black ink I used for my sentiment!
I then used my distress tool to distress the edges a bit then layered it onto a piece of card stock that I inked the edges w/the Broken china ink so it can coordinate w/the card! I tied some hemp twine & added the little bling to the eiffel tower! I used foam tape to adhere it all done….then VIOLA! ;)
