3-D Wednesday

GOOD MORNING my creative friends & welcome to another:

Sorry, I have no video for you today:( I was busy "monitering" my Dad & my son install a new doggy door yesterday. heheheh! We have replaced several of them in our screen door over the last 7 years that we finally opted to do one in our wall this time! Let's just say that I think my house will ACTUALLY STAY cool in the summer & warm in the winter now! We are so excited, but my furbabies are not;( They DISLIKE change, especially my little Scrappy! They have no choice but to get used to it! lol..... The things we do for our little furry friends.....

Okay, onto my project for today! I actually made this for a magazine submission, but it was a "reject"! Which is TOTALLY OKAY because now I get to share it w/all of YOU! ;) I thought it would be COOL to use my Tag die for a topper! Let me just say that I will be making LOTS of these for stocking stuffers this year! ;) All I did was score it, folded it over my 2x8 cello bag, then stapled it. Next I positioned my Stitched Doily Die cut onto it so it can ONLY show on the upper left hand corner, then I just hand cut off the excess portion of it! Then I stamped my sentiment onto my cloud die & used pop dots to pop it up! Next I stamped my 2 cutie kitties on it then finished it off w/some orange hemp twine! This is my FAVORITE because I just LOVEY candy corn SOOO MUCH & I am SOOO LOOKING forward to Fall! :)

Thoughtful Thursday "Behind every cloud is a silver lining!"

Good morning my creative friends! Today we are featuring something new on my blog. It is called "Thoughtful Thursday". We thought it would be fun to have a day for us to make a card for someone to cheer them up, congratulate someone, happy birthday....or just simply "just because"! I know we all make cards everyday, but this is perfect to make something for someone "specific" that you've been wanting to send a card to, but never had time! I have a friend who is having a hard time right now, so I just want to remind her that "Behind every cloud is a silver lining"! I decided to make a tag instead of a card today.

In my video below, you can see how I put this together. I was so happy to finally get to use my canvas & adhesive cork 12x12 sheets that I picked up from Hobby Lobby! I used the cork paper to cut out my tag & I used the canvas to cut out my clouds. I also used some silver paper to cut another set of clouds to place behind the canvas clouds. I decided at the last minute to add a Tim Holtz "hinge clip" to the bigger cloud.

Here is my tag in its entirety! I had the worst time trying to get a good picture, but they all came out bad:( But it REALLY IS much PRETTIER in real life! ;)
